Structural Changes of Intermetallic Catalysts under Reaction Conditions

چکیده
Intermetallic Catalysts Intermetallics with long-range chemical ordering have been demonstrated to be excellent catalysts in many reactions. Their surface structures under real reaction conditions are crucial for understanding the catalytic mechanisms. In article number 2100011 by Xiao Li, Jianxiong Zhao and Dong Su, structural changes of intermetallic systematically discussed. Strategies improve activity durability also presented.

Structural Evolution under Reaction Conditions of Supported (NH4)3HPMo11VO40 Catalysts for the Selective Oxidation of Isobutane
When using heteropolycompounds in the selective oxidation of isobutane to methacrolein and methacrylic acid, both the keeping of the primary structure (Keggin units) and the presence of acidic sites are necessary to obtain the desired products. The structural evolution of supported (NH4)3HPMo11VO40 (APMV) catalysts under preliminary thermal oxidizing and reducing treatments was investigated. Va...
متن کاملPalladium Gallium Intermetallic Compounds for the Selective Hydrogenation of Acetylene Part I: Preparation and Structural Investigation Under Reaction Conditions
15 August 2008 Abstract The intermetallic compounds PdGa and Pd3Ga7 are introduced as selective catalysts for the hydrogenation of acetylene. Single phase PdGa and Pd3Ga7 can readily be prepared by the appropriate thermal treatment of the stoichiometric mixtures of the corresponding elements. The initial low surface areas of the as-prepared materials can be increased by careful mechanical treat...
متن کاملIn-situ Observation of Nano-particulate Gold Catalysts under Reaction Gas and Non-reaction Gas Conditions
Gold exhibits catalytic activity when it is in the form of fine particles having a size of less than 10 nm and is tightly supported on specific metal oxides such as TiO2, etc [1]. To reveal its mechanism, dynamic observation of the sample structures during the reaction by the transmission electron microscope (TEM) is quite essential. “Environmental-cell (E-cell) TEM” technique [2], which enable...
متن کاملFuture Challenges in Heterogeneous Catalysis: Understanding Catalysts under Dynamic Reaction Conditions
In the future, (electro-)chemical catalysts will have to be more tolerant towards a varying supply of energy and raw materials. This is mainly due to the fluctuating nature of renewable energies. For example, power-to-chemical processes require a shift from steady-state operation towards operation under dynamic reaction conditions. This brings along a number of demands for the design of both ca...
متن کاملStructural lubricity under ambient conditions
Despite its fundamental importance, physical mechanisms that govern friction are poorly understood. While a state of ultra-low friction, termed structural lubricity, is expected for any clean, atomically flat interface consisting of two different materials with incommensurate structures, some associated predictions could only be quantitatively confirmed under ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions ...
